What do I get?

All of CodeIt's Zope Hosting Accounts come with the following features:

100 MB of disk space.
1GB/month transfer limit.
1 FTP Account.
5 E-Mail Accounts.
Access to your server's log files.

And best of all, we've already setup and configured it all for you!

What are my options?

We are currently offering two different types of Zope Hosting Accounts:

$35/month

This is our Basic Zope Account. It does not allow you to install your own custom products, but lets you use several products that we have preinstalled for you. The products we have preinstalled are:

TinyTables
Confera
Squishdot
ZMySQLDA

The Basic Zope Account does allow you to install your own External Methods. Although we provide the ZMySQLDA, the Basic Account does not include a database on our MySQL server. However, if you have a MySQL server running elsewhere, you can use the ZMySQLDA to connect to it.

$50/month

Our Advanced Zope Account includes everything that's in the Basic Account, and you also get the necessary access to install your own products. These products are local only to your instance of Zope, so nobody else on our system but you will have access to them.

In addition, you are also given your own database on our MySQL server.

We also offer virtual domain support, so that different directories in your Zope installation can be completely separate websites, each with their own domain name. For example:

primarydomain.com    -->  /Zope's Root Folder
secondarydomain.com  -->  |-secondarydomain
thirddomain.com      -->  |_thirddomain

Each virtual domain requires an IP address. Additional IP addresses are $10/month.

Why the price difference?

We are charging more for the ability to install your own products for a few different reasons. Custom products can be very resource intensive. Because we are running many Zope instances on a single machine, we need to keep the resource usage at reasonable levels.

You also get your very own MySQL database on our MySQL server. That's another server that you don't have to worry about administering!

Finally, you get the ability to have virtual domains, so if you have more than one web site you can administer them all from one central location.

What if I don't want to pay extra, but want a product that isn't installed?

If there is a product that you absolutely can't live without, or you want one of your own custom products available, we may be able to accomodate you. If you send us the product so we can examine it, and you don't mind having it available to everyone on the system, we may make it available to all our users (the same way we offer TinyTables and Confera).
